These just became my favourite pair of Mary Janes. Like, EVER. Or until next week’s Friday Night Louboutin Fix, at least.
Now, does anyone happen to have a spare $835 they don’t have a use for at the moment? Anyone?
Get them at Saks.

I cannot tell a lie, readers: something about these shoes scares me, and when I say “something” I mean “Yes, strange, elongated droopy bow, I AM looking at you!” That’s one strange looking bow, isn’t it? Quite apart from anything else, it looks to me like it’s PADDED, and that gives it the look of an upside-down pair of devil’s horns, or perhaps a bizarre, comedy moustache.
In other words, I won’t be spending £450 on these anytime soon, but if you will be, head to the Matthew Williamson website to choose your colour!

I must admit, I wouldn’t recognise Alexandra Richards if she fell on me (she’s the daughter of Keith Richards, if you were similarly in the dark), but I DID recognise the shoes she wore to the Tribeca Film Festival Dinner last night – although given that the evening was hosted by Chanel, it’s perhaps not a huge surprise that so many of the guests were dressed in the brand!
These are the flower-front wooden platforms from the S/S 2010 collection, and I’m guessing they were borrowed for the occasion, as are so many of the shoes we see on the red carpet, which would account for the gape at the back of the heel. It must be so frustrating to get to wear fabulous shoes for free, only to find that they’re ALWAYS the wrong size, but ah well, first world problems…
What does everyone think of these? Take a look under the jump to see what Alexandra wore with them.

You just can’t beat New Look when it comes to cheap n’ cheerful party shoes, can you?
These flower-fronted sandals are just £30, and while they’re probably never going to go on to become your favourite shoes in the world ever, given the limited amount of use evening shoes get in my house, that seems like a pretty reasonable price to me. These are also very cute, and combine a strappy upper which helps tone down the flower decorations a little, and make these very wearable. I like the pale gold versions, which will go with everything, but the black should prove versatile too. Get them here, if you agree.

These shoes are almost identical in shape to a style River Island released last summer: presumably they were successful enough to make them want to re-visit the look this year, and I can see why – I have a bit of a soft spot for the wooden-soled mule, and was gutted last year when the nautically-themed version went on sale in every size but mine!
I’m not quite as taken with this buckle-fronted version, but navy shoes are my current weakness, and the shoes on the right would get a lot of use were they to magically find themselves inside the Shoeper Shoe Closet!
If you think you’d wear them too, they’re £39.99 at River Island.

It’s been a while since I showed you a pair of heart-front shoes, so let’s fix that right this very second, with these black, white and red peep toes by Moschino, which are $769 at Zappos Couture.
I particularly like the shape of the heart on these, and the way it loops down into the peep toe, making it less kitsch than some of the heart embellishments I’ve featured. I’m also keen on the colour mix, and while my preference is always going to be for a slightly higher heel (these are 3″), the pyramid shape of this one is a nice finishing touch.
What do you think?

The creation of Ruby Shoesdays has made me pay even more attention to red shoes than I was anyway, and as I was paying a LOT of attention to red shoes before the Shoesday came along, I guess you could say I’m now every so slightly obsessed.
These bright red peep toes by Brian Atwood are the latest ruby shoes to draw themselves to my attention, and although the colour alone would probably have been enough to do that, the ruched “rosette” embellishment on the toe also helps a lot. Sadly, these won’t be joining my Ruby Shoesday rotation, as they’re $770, but if you want to add them to yours, they’re available at Neiman Marcus.

I think ‘Flowerboing’ is going to be my Word of the Week. Flowerboing. It’s great, isn’t it? I am a little confused by it, though: I mean, obviously I can see where the “flower” part comes from, but the “boing”? Is it because the ankle strap looks like a spring? I have no idea, and I suspect I’ve probably spent too long thinking about it, so let’s look at the shoes, shall we?
These shoes are actually hard NOT to look at. They have more flowers on them than I’ve ever seen on a piece of footwear, and that’s a couple of dozen flowers too many for me, although I might change my mind if I were to see them on a foot. These are super-expensive at $1,195, but it does look like a lot of work has gone into creating them. Does that justify the price, do you think? If so, get them at Bergdorf Goodman.
