Versace Intrecciata metal platform sandals and python cutout boots

Wow. Those are some heels, no?

As much as I love my heels, I have to admit that even I baulk slightly at the thought of trying to walk in these two shoes from Versace’s Spring/Summer collection, although I’d love to give it a go, if only to find out what it’s like to be tall for once. The heels on both styles come in at 7 inches: the platforms, meanwhile, are 3″, making them taller than some stilettos.  I reckon they’re probably amongst the highest “fashion” shoes around at the moment (by which I mean simply “non-fetish wear, and not designed for actual strippers”), and although the boots have already appeared in a few fashion editorials, I’ll be curious to see how many people will actually take on the challenge of wearing them. I’d guess probably not many outside of celebrity circles!

What do you think of these shoes? Would you wear them? If so, both styles are available at Net-a-Porter, where you’ll pay a cool £1,925 for the shoes and £1,370 for the “boots”.

  • Heel & platform heights are getting a bit ridiculous now aren’t they, how long will it be before we’re walking around on stilts with a couple of bows on them :o)
