Celebrity Shoes: Elisa Sednaoui in Christian Louboutin mesh knee boots

Elisa Sednaoui in Christian Louboutin boots

As beautiful as model Elisa Sednaoui is,  when I looked at this photo, I had eyes only for her shoes, which are Christian Louboutin’s knee-high mesh boots. Yes, mesh knee boots, you read that right. I guess they’re intended to be the perfect solution for people who want to continue wearing boots in warmer weather, and I can see how that would work, but I’m afraid these get the thumbs down from me. Here’s why:

Yes, it’s that’s whole “exposing the entire foot” thing again. For some reason I can only tolerate that in sandals, or in flip flops: on boots, or mesh court shoes, it just seems all wrong. It’s a shame, because these boots are a lovely shape, and yet I still can’t get on board with them. What do you think?

  1. Jess says:

I think they look like they fit really badly :/

  2. Jade says:

I’m with Jess, they are a nice shape, but they aren’t really doing it for me either.

  3. Marianne says:

Her toes look squished. And I already know boots make my ankles look fat. I don’t need to know exactly how fat they will look.

  4. Claire says:

Seeing those squashed toes is like an advert for ‘why not to wear high heels’! Scary stuff.

  5. Tracey says:

I’m afraid The Master has struck out with these.

    Eww. Toe crunch.

  7. Alison says:

Ick. Squashed toes are not cute.

I don’t like mesh-I don’t care how much it costs, it looks damn cheap no matter who made it. It reminds me of a screen door, or mosquito netting. Not cute on your feet.

  8. Liz says:

Agree with the other comments that the fit on the model here is less than optimal, both on the feet and on the calves. There are better solutions for summer boots.

  9. Abby C. says:

    one word – no.
