You don’t really need any commentary from me on this one, do you?
Nope, didn’t think so.

In response to reader demand (um, well, there were a whole TWO requests! Hi, both of you!) the Friday Night Louboutin Fix is back! But I’m worried. In fact, I think there may be something wrong with me. Look at these shoes, readers. Three points:
a) They’re by Christian Louboutin
b) They have polka dots
c) And a bow. A big one.
So, polka dots AND a bow, on a shoe by my favourite designer. And yet somehow I’m not feeling the urge to buy them. (Which is probably a good thing, because they’re $795. ) Too cutesy? Too costumey? Or just a passing moment of madness on my part? What do you think, readers: do you love these? Get them at Barneys if you do: they’re also available in black and white (And no, I’m somehow not feeling those either. Maybe I should go and lie down…)

How could I resist showing you a pair of shoes called ‘Walk of Fame’?
Actually, the reality of these heels doesn’t quite live up to the name for me: I don’t know, it just feels like a pair of silver, star-spangled sandals should be a little more exciting than these. There’s a slight disconnect between the shiny front and wooden heels on these, but they still have a dose of that quirky charm Chie Mihara do so well. At 5″, those heels are higher than they look, though, and the covered platform won’t do a huge amount to make it feel smaller, so you might want to take that into consideration if you’re thinking about making a purchase. If you are, they’re £235, and you’ll find them at Anthropologie.

These shoes have a real “supervillain” feel to them, don’t they? I think it’s something to do with that high”collar” detail at the heel. It reminds me of this:
She’d totally wear these shoes, wouldn’t she? They’re all angles and sharp edges, and there’s something very hard about them: so much so, in fact, that I think I’ll be giving them a miss. What do you think of them, though? Do you like them enough to spend £80 on them, I wonder? If so, you’ll find them at Faith.

Either Paloma Faith was in a huge hurry when she left the house last night, or these red shoes of hers had to be removed at some point during the evening, and she didn’t get around to buckling them back up. Either way, they’re fantastic shoes, and I absolutely love the dress she’s wearing with them, too. As for the gigantic hat and doll-like makeup, well, I’m not so sure about that, but hey, at least she looks happy, right?

I didn’t give these boots a second glance when they first appeared on the River Island website, but last weekend I spotted a girl wearing them while I was out shopping, and found myself walking around doing that “trying not to look like I’m staring at your shoes, even although I’m totally staring at your shoes” thing. Is it just me who does that?
Anyway, I can report that these boots are far more awesome in real life that they appear to be in this image: they have a fabulous slouchy, lived-in look which I really like, and they manage to be casual but stunning, which isn’t an easy thing to achieve. Of course, it may well have helped that their wearer was tall, gorgeous and looked like an off-duty model (she was wearing them with simple black leggings, long line top and cardigan), but hey they made ME take a second look, anyway. If you’d like to take another look too, they’re £119 from River Island.

I’d probably have liked these Kelsi Dagger shoes regardless of the colour they happened to be – as regular readers will know, I’m a bit of a sucker for shoes with big old flowers on the front of them! – but I think this brown and cream mix was a particularly nice choice. The muted colours help stop the shoes looking too saccharine, and is very wearable, but the flowers keep the cute factor high.
These are $135 from Piperlime.

My, my! Sequins AND glitter, together on the same shoe! Sounds a bit like the kind of thing a pre-schooler would do to a shoe if he was given five minutes alone with it and the craft table: and, actually, it kind of LOOKS like that too, doesn’t it? Those over-lapping sequins, combined with the multicolured glitter, make me think of the kind of thing I’d proudly drag home from nursery school (kindergarten) and make my parents put on display, although if I’d had those kind of mad skillz as a child, I could’ve called myself Harumi Watanabe and charged £371 per pair. Another opportunity missed!
These are presumably designed to appeal to those who take a magpie approach to shoe shopping, going for all that glitters and shines. These shoes will do both: if that sounds good to you, you can buy them at Louisa Via Roma.
