If these shoes weren’t so mind-bogglingly expensive (they’re £714), I’d probably really love them. They’re a nice take on the traditional strappy sandal: still strappy, still sparkly, but with three big over-sized buckles and some black leather straps to bring them up to date. Given that they ARE mind-bogglingly expensive, however, I… well, actually, I still really love, just from a distance. A really long distance.
For those who like their shoes (and their fashion shows) to come with a great big dollop of drama, DSquared2′s runway shows are always a lot of fun. Check out the studded platform sandals above, for instance: even I wouldn’t necessarily fancy walking too far in them, but they’re great to look at, as are the bright yellow ankle boots you’ll find under the jump:
Some days it feels like it actually still IS the 80s, doesn’t it? These boots help add to that impression, with the flash of colour at the ankle, but I think they’re a lot more palatable than many of the other 80′s fashion influences we’ve been seeing around for the past couple of years. Actually, I may even really like the black version with the bright blue flash: but then again, I might not. They’re one of those things I just can’t quite make my mind up about.
These are from New Look’s Limited Collection, and, as such, they’re a little more expensive than most New Look footwear, at £70. What do you think of them?
I’ve mentioned Bourne once before here. They’re one of my favourite brands of Shoes I Will Never Be Able to Wear because most of their styles tend to fall into the bridal/special occasion category, and, well, I don’t get out much. I was really pleased, then, to discover these boots: you could argue that they’re ALSO very much a “dress” shoe (or boot, rather), but the patent leather/diamante strap at the ankle is detachable, so you can whip it off and be left with a regular, suede over-the-knee boot.
I’m still currently obsessed with OTK styles, so naturally I’m loving these. If you are too, they’re £208 at Viva la Diva.
Just in case you thought those ruffles that infiltrated the footwear world this year were only attracted to shoes with high heels, here’s a cute pair of flats from Jeffrey Campbell to prove you wrong. These also prove that flats can be just as fashionable as anything else, managing to combine ruffles AND studs – two hot trends for the price of one! I love the metallic uppers on these, but if you don’t, they’re also available in black.
One thing I love about Office (actually, there are LOTS of things I love about Office, but let’s just stick to one for now…) is the names they give their shoes. These platforms, for instance, are called ‘Sound as a Pound’, and that somehow endears them to me. It’s not the only thing, mind you: I’ve mentioned before that I like combinations of red and black on shoes, so I appreciate the red heel and sole on these, although I’d appreciate them even more if they’d just missed out that middle layer altogether. I’m not one to shy away from high shoes, but these just look too chunky, and I think they’d be much nicer with a lower platform, and just the two colours.
Of course, that’s too much to ask for at the moment, because we STILL seem to be stuck in the “giant platforms” phase of fashion. Ah well, if you like these shoes just as they are, they’re £90 and you can buy them here.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to The Outnet, they get in a whole new collection of shoes to ruin your bank balance. Sigh.
If you’re an Azzedine Alaïa fan, you’re going to be particularly pleased about the latest delivery, which inlcudes the styles shown above, all discounted, and some reduced by up to 50%. Needless to say, as with most things at The Outnet, these probably won’t stick around for too long, so remember the Shoeperwoman motto: If the shoe fits, buy it!
These shoes are particularly well named, I think, because I don’t know about you, but j’adore. I suspect that’s probably the reaction Dune were expecting when they chose that particular name.
In the continuing bid to attach bows to places other than the toe, they’ve put these ones on the heels, and given them a generous sprinkling of diamante, too. The result is a special-occasion shoe that combines a simple shape with a bit of pizazz, and which also comes in black, should you prefer it.
