I have some serious issues with Balmain. It’s not that i don’t like their designs, because I frequently do: it’s simply that everything they make is so horribly, horribly expensive. Seriously, I know they’re a high-end design house; I realise their products are “aspirational”, but Balmain, more than most other labels, seem to feel they have a licence to print money, purely by virtue of putting their name on something.
With that mini-rant over, I present these five-buckle boots, which, admittedly, are rather lovely, and actually rather cheaper than many Balmain creations, at “just” £1,160? Ah, maybe I’m just bitter!

Agree – Balmain is stupidly expensive. Like those boots don’t even look leather, how can they justify the price??
I’m not liking these. They have a very clunky shape and I think they look like something you’d wear after you sprained your ankle. Also yes, the price is insane.
I think they’re a bit fussy with all the buckles. And I only pay that kind of money for the Master or his apprentice.
I absolutely LOVE these shoes! The whole buckle thing is unbelievably cute and the look of he fabric which looks like a black suede! Heart it!
