1. Gone shopping…

shoperwoman-badge-newI know I’ve mentioned my vacation more than a few times recently, but now the time has come for me to leave you for a couple of weeks, and go off in search of new and exciting shoes, I mean “shores”.  My flight isn’t actually until Thursday (I could fly there myself, obviously, but I don’t like to draw too much attention to my super powers…), but it’s an early one, so I’ll need to spend tomorrow packing and sleeping, and probably won’t have time to blog…

Anyway, I’ll be back in two weeks time, and hopefully with at least one more pair of shoes than I left with, so if you check back then I’ll have some new posts for you – or maybe even before!

  2. Shoe Deja Vu: Louboutin-style studded shoe boots by NV

    studded-shoe-bootsShades of Louboutin, anyone?

These studded shoe boots are from NV, and they’re only £24.99, so I guess if I don’t succumb to the temptation of the Astraqueen boots, I can always buy these and have a whole lot of change leftover. I’ve never shopped from this site before, so I have no idea what the quality of a pair of £24.99 ankle boots would be like, but if you’re willing to give it a go, they also have a pair of ruffle-front pumps which are not unlike the Louboutin ‘Dillian’ pumps. (Well, they are unlike them, but you know what I mean…)

  3. Faith’s red ‘Cagerine’ pumps now on sale

Faith still have some fantastic sale offers on at the moment, one of which is these red ‘Cangerine’ pumps, which are currently reduced to £32.

These are also available in black, yellow, white and a rather nice navy suede, but for some reason only the red version is on sale. Needless to say, because these are on sale, not all sizes are available, but they still have them in a UK 3, 5, 8 and 9.

    BUY: Faith ‘Cangerine’ pumps, £32

  4. Shoe Kryptonite: Christian Louboutin ‘Feticha’ pumps

I always think that if you don’t have a lot of money, when you shop designer it’s generally best to go for something you’ll wear constantly and really get use of, rather than a pair of beautiful-but-impractical dress shoes that you’ll only ever take out of their box on very special occasions.

Well, when it comes to “investment shopping”, you can’t do better than a pair of simple black pumps, and these are exactly that, but with lashings of Christian Loboutin style thrown in to make them extra-special.

As for wearing them “constantly”, well, I’m not totally convinced: that heel looks like a good five inches to me (the site doesn’t actually state the exact height) and I suspect the name might be a clue that these draw their inspiration from fetish shoes, but if that doesn’t put you off, I reckon they’re true Shoe Kryptonite.

BUY: Christian Louboutin ‘Feticha’ pumps, $621

  5. Sergio Rossi crystal sprial heel sandals

This is yet another shoe to be filed under “interesting developments in the world of heels”. Oh, and also under, “Oh my God, who pays £1,261 for shoes, WHO?”

Not me, but then, I probably wouldn’t be buying these in any case: not because I don’t like them, but because I have a funny feeling that, once on, it would look like my heels had buckled under my tremendous weight, and that’s not a look I generally go for.

These are pretty, though, and I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t spend at least a couple of seconds cooing over the bow on the front, so here you go:

Consider them officially cooed-over. If you’d like to buy them, meanwhile, you can do that here.

  6. Emma Cook for Topshop beige platform sandals

emma-cook-ruffle-shoesI’ve read a bit of criticism of these shoes since they first came out, but I actually quite like them: I particularly like the way a very feminine style has been given a bit of edge with the zippers, and I say this as someone who doesn’t normally have a lot of love for lots of zips on things.

I also like the mix of mat and metallic on the uppers, which makes them a little more interesting than plain old beige would’ve been, but with all of that said, I think they could be a little tricky to style, so I can see why some people don’t like them.

What do you think of them? If it’s love all the way, they’re £95 at Topshop.

  7. Bright blue bow peep toes from Bertie

bertie-bow-peep-toesI’ve been admiring these shoes for quite some time now – so long, in fact, that as always for me, they’re already sold out in my size. These have a bit of an 80s fashion vibe to them, between the bright blue colour and the shape, but they’re lots of fun, and would be an excellent way to dress up a pair of jeans.

The blue is now only available in a UK size 6, unfortunately, but they’re also available in black, and have now been reduced to £45 at ASOS.

  8. Charlotte Olympia striped wedge genie pumps

It’s getting a little bit ridiculous now, the whole “let’s see who can make the highest wedge possible” thing that’s been going on in fashion for a while now.

Take these Charolotte Olympia wedges, for instance. Now, I rarely let a heel defeat me, and am fond of saying that anything you can do in flats, I can do in heels. But I AM scared of heights, and I’m thinking that even I would find these shoes just a little bit daunting.

Of course, Louisa Viaroma don’t actually give details about the exact height of the platform, so it could be that these are actually not quite as high as they look, with the horizontal stripes serving as an optical illusion to make them look higher. If you’d like to find out for yourself, you’re going to need quite a bit of spare cash, as these work out to around $1,060 dollars.

They’re wonderful to look at, but I think “looking” is all I’m going to be doing. What do you think?
