I love a bit of colour-blocking, and these ‘Bianca’ slingbacks manage to combine black, white, blue and red in a way that’s fun, but not garish. That classic Louboutin slingback shape, meanwhile, keeps the overall look elegant. Want to see some more? Oh, go on then… March 19th, 2010Marc Jacobs gold stacked wedgesThese gold wedges will be too shiny for some tastes, but I’m rather fond of a metallic wedge, particularly in the summer. Not only are wedges some of the most comfortable shoes you’ll ever walk in, the colour of these Marc Jacobs shoes will work with everything (or almost everything), and they’ll go easily from day to night, too. I’m picturing them worn with a print dress, a few gold bangles and a martini, ideally on a yacht in St Tropez or somewhere equally glamorous, but you could just as easily throw them on with a little black dress for an evening out. Double bows win Marc Jacobs double the Shoeper points for these ones, too! They’re $699 at Zappos. March 19th, 2010Moschino red peep toes with bow detail
Those points aside, the more I look at these shoes, the more I like them. The shape of the peep toe is particularly nice, and these have something of a fairytale feel to them – or maybe I’ve just been reading too many ‘Alice In Wonderland’ themed press releases lately. Also, look! Stripes on the insole! That does it for me… If it does it for you, too, these are £195 at Yoox, with a range of sizes still available. March 18th, 2010Badgley Mischka blue satin Hyde pumpsI’ve actually shown you these shoes before, in white, as part of a bridal shoe roundup. I make no apologies for showing you them again, though, because: a) They’re absolutely stunning and b) When I last featured them here, I was bemoaning the fact that they were only available in white, and looked very definitely “bridal”. Now, however, they’re available in this lovely shade of blue, they’re still stunning, and I want them even more than I did a few months ago. At $154, they’re not too expensive, either. Get them at Zappos. March 18th, 2010Moda in Pelle ‘Darla’ peep toes in navyIt’s been a while since Moda in Pelle managed to catch my attention with one of their shoes, so I was particularly pleased to stumble across these ‘Darla’ peep toes , which help feed my current obsession with all things navy! I especially like the colour combination of the bow on the navy shoes: the brown version isn’t quite doing it for me, but they’re still very cute, and I suspect that if I came across them on the sale rack, they’d probably be coming home with me! If you can’t wait for the sale, these are £80 at Moda in Pelle. March 17th, 2010Moschino Cheap & Chic nude pumps with pink embellishment
These are $515, and are available to buy direct from the Moschino website. March 17th, 2010Shannon Britt ‘Abbey’ pointed toe feather pumps
If it is, these are $300 at Endless, and are sold as wedding shoes, although I guess you could wear them anywhere that seemed to require white, feathery shoes. I’m just not sure where, exactly, that might be… March 17th, 2010Harajuku Lovers ‘Diamond’ Mary Janes with striped lining
I’m also growing fonder of pointed-toes on platforms, and particularly on Mary Jane styles. It helps stop them looking too chunky, and just gives the shoe a more elegant shape, without looking too pointy, which can sometimes be the fate of shoes without a platform. These are $89.95, and you can grab a pair at Endless. March 16th, 2010Jimmy Choo Light-Up Platform Sandals
People, the heels light up. They’re designed in much the same way as the light-up sneakers mentioned above, so that when your foot hits the ground, the heel will light up. And it’s a yellow heel. With a red sole. And I don’t know… I’ve read a few gushing reviews of these shoes from my fellow bloggers, but I think I’m going to have to be the voice of dissent here and say that this is just way too gimmicky for me to want to spend $2,495 on. I’d make a joke here about them “lighting up your life”, but I’m actually still in shock at having to write the words “Jimmy Choo” and “light-up heels” in the same sentence, so feel free to make up your own jokes there. Oh, and feel free to head over to Saks and buy them, too, if you so desire! |
